A culmination of genres like alternative, jazz, and contemporary improvisation with an atmospheric, surround-sound quality and heavy sociopolitical influence, AZALEA is a depiction of composer Sasha Berliner's coming of age in NYC. Synths, strings, vibraphone quartet, vocals, audio samples, and post production fuse to form a self portrait that expresses anger, depression, joy, love, and gratitude in every facet of learning what it means to be an artist uncovering her voice in 2019.

Comes in a jacket style CD case, complete with a liner note insert and a custom obi-style wrap to keep contents in place for storage. This packaging leaves behind the smallest carbon footprint of any other CD packaging! Download cards available on request for mechanical sales only (i.e. stocking a record store, venue sales).

Digital design by Paul Tsang, photography by Maria del Rio.

Praise for Azalea:

“the album gleefully explores various genres and headspaces, from the aforementioned soft, moody jazz to the modern, alternative one…”

— DAEV TREMBLAY, CAN THIS EVEN BE CALLED MUSIC

“her compositions have a way of grooving deeply while moving their weight and balance around in counterintuitive ways, keeping you riveted.”

— GIOVANNI RUSSONELLO, THE NEW YORK TIMES
